Study abroad and exchange

Study overseas as part of your course

A global experience is an opportunity to broaden your academic experience and develop a global perspective by experiencing different lifestyles, languages and cultures. Every year, thousands of University of Sydney students take up global mobility opportunities, virtually and in-person, including semester and year-long exchange programs and short-term experiences, with partners and destinations around the world.

Through the Sydney Global Mobility program, you can study at one of 250+ partner institutions in more than 40 countries around the world. The Sydney Global Mobility program is open to most current undergraduate students and some postgraduate students.

Explore: find out what’s on offer, the virtual and in-person programs available, the destinations we have partnerships with, eligibility requirements and how to work out what option best suits you.

Apply: we outline all the steps of the process and what’s involved so that you can be prepared ahead of time. If you’re wanting your global program to count towards your course, applying for academic approval and knowing what units you can study at your destination is an important part of the process.

Experience: you’re off on a global adventure. Now find out what you need to do to get ready, how to enrol and how to access during your program.

Return: find out and how to get credit for your studies once you’re back and the ways you can stay connected with your global experience.
